CreditPlus is our flagship software package, designed to be extremely flexible yet easily customisable for almost any client's requirements. Based on de facto industry standards, such as Microsoft's ASP.Net development platform running on PC server hardware, and on our own Finance Framework, CreditPlus has been designed to be utilised via a browser, eliminating the need for a client PC application and greatly reducing the total cost of ownership at the desktop.
What makes CreditPlus different?
Most competitive products today require that you accept that whatever comes out of the shrink-wrap is what you get - and nothing more. If you want a functional enhancement, you might be able to get the supplier to deliver a modification for you but if it's not in their interests, perhaps because it's long, expensive and error-fraught in their systems architecture, you will probably wait a long time to receive it, if at all. Even if you do get it, it could cost you an arm and a leg - all part of the 'discouragement' a supplier can use to maintain their architecture at the expense of your business efficiency and competitiveness.
In contrast, CreditPlus has been designed to be flexible from the outset and so is unencumbered by the likes of legacy systems architectures or proprietary operating systems. This means that when you want something different, you simply specify it with us and we deliver it. The structure of our system has been designed to be flexible but powerful, with in-built functionality that allows us to, more often than not, simply 'rearrange the parts' to deliver your unique requirements, quickly and easily.
In short, CreditPlus has been designed to be led by your business, not to lead your business.
Our Systems Architecture
We have purposely created our system to provide two distinct layers:
- The Finance Framework.
- The Solution Layer.
The Finance Framework
The foundation of our system is the Finance Framework. This provides a huge library of code that together allows almost all financial functionality to be quickly, easily and coherently plugged together to deliver the basis of your unique system.
For example, functionality found in our Finance Framework includes:
- Database interaction, exports, imports, security, transaction consistency and auditing
- General business functionality such as electronic funds transfer, accounting and accounting exports, and commercial bank interfaces
- Financial functionality such as time-value-of-money calculations, rate structures, financial transactions, instalments and payments
- Basic 'objects' such as Customers and Accounts.
Your Solution Layer
On top of our Finance Framework, we build a unique Solution Layer for you that delivers exactly what you need to make your business run the way you want it. You specify in conjunction with our business analysts and developers exactly how you want things to work in practice. For example:
- How you want to account for your daily transactions
- How you want the process workflow to be set up. e.g. to complete applications efficiently and simply in your contact centre
- How you want your system to look and feel for your end users. e.g. you may want to offer a different branding for a separate broker channel.
All this Solution Layer code is yours and yours alone - you will not find your change request suddenly appear in another competitive company's system by default!
How long does this take?
Typically, the creation of your Solution Layer, represents between 5% and 10% of entire project, measured by time. This, of course, depends on the complexity of your requirements and assumes the requirements have been appropriately specified before development begins. As a guideline, a simple personal loan could be created and deployed in a matter of minutes within an existing Solution Layer and even the more complex products should not take more than a few days.
In fact, in practice, we find that the overall time to develop and deploy a new application is more often driven by the time it takes to analyse and create a clear, unambiguous statement of end user requirements for things like the process workflow desired in the Solution Layer, the screen appearance (particularly if a number of sales channels are to be used) and the detailed back-end accounting treatments required.
Typical IT System Requirements
CreditPlus is designed to run on PC architectures using de facto industry standards, such as the Microsoft family of products and Intel microprocessors. A typical installation would require the following pre-requisite hardware and software:
- Web server with 2GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, Pentium 4 (3.0GHz or better) and IIS 6.0 with ASP and ASP.Net enabled
and Windows 2003 Server Web Edition
- Database server with 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive (SCSI preferably), Pentium 4 (3.0GHz or better) with Microsoft SQL Server Standard Edition
Network connectivity, security, etc., would also need to be installed, depending upon the user population, their location(s) and a company's own ICT security policies.
